Race Week Rundown

Starting in Downtown Anniston, riders will leave the start/finish area and will pedal into the northeast portion of the Coldwater Mountain trail system. A series of green trails will be used to access the crest of the mountain and then riders will blaze through a 10-mile section of passable singletrack (newly constructed) off of Oval Office to access the southwestern corner of the trail system.

Finishing up on the lower section of Bomb Dog, riders will then climb back up using a combination of singletrack and service roads to access the new tunnel, constructed just this year for the inaugural event.
Then it’s down Goldilocks and up Cassidy on their way to Talladega and Trillium. The second lap of the longer race distance is similar, but we will add a full ride down Bomb Dog and a climb up Chilhowee before hitting Goldilocks. After finishing up the second lap, we will exit the trails down a new singletrack connector to the City of Anniston and the finish line!

PLEASE NOTE: a portion of this course is on private property that cannot be accessed until race day!  The dirt entrance off of Hwy. 202 that goes into the trail system that we will use on race day (1.6 miles into the course connecting to the Tortoise Trail) is private land and is posted with No Trespassing signs.  Do NOT use this entrance–please enter the trails at the trailhead off of Monsanto Road which is one road to the west of the race day entrance.

Aid Stations will offer water, soft drinks, snacks, and GU products: energy gels, waffles, and drink mix.
